![]() ![]() A shorted motor shouldn’t make even a half revolution. Less resistance when they aren’t touching - hopefully this means the motor is fine.Ī normal motor will complete about 1 revolution if you spin it manually. Touched all three phase wires together, and there’s not much more resistance to spinning but it’s there. ![]() Board's been on the bench for a couple weeks with what seems to be a perfectly fine motor and VESC and just won't detect.Īlright, tried manually shorting the motor and it worked. 2nd motor hasn't been able to get past the flux linkage detection, even tried with a new VESC and same issue every time.Let me know if you know what causes the 'flux linkage detection' issue, and if you've ever solved it. Long story short: 1st VESC and 1st motor hit the flux linkage error - I self-tuned the parameters and motor detection finally worked. I ordered an identical Flipsky FSESC4.12 thinking it may be the vesc (I needed a second one anyway, planning on running dual-motor) and still getting the same error. I've also resoldered all the bullet connectors, XT-60 connectors, but to no avail. Now on this new motor - I've tried the same multiple times, as well as reflashing the firmware, bootloader, but nothing has fixed the issue with this new motor. I finally went in and tweaked all of the motor parameters myself (current, ERPM, cutoff voltages, etc.) and then ran detection again and it worked. It makes a first small beep - then tries to spin up, spins for about a second, and immediately stops and vibrates (not spinning) and then shuts off and shows the error (see video).īefore the motor you see in the video - I used an identical 6374 Flipsky motor (only difference is I had sensor wires on that one - this one shipped with a broken sensor wire connector so I'm running it sensorless), this same VESC, and had this same issue for the first couple tries in motor detection. Here's the problem: the motor fails during motor detection for both BLDC and FOC modes at the 'flux linkage detection' stage. I've gotten the receiver for my remote connected and it works to run power and control the motor. The vesc turns on properly, connects to the VESC tool on my laptop via usb, and seems to work fine. You should be able to see it all in the vid pretty well. I've got a Flipsky 6374 BLDC 190kv motor, Flipsky FSESC 4.12 (Vesc), anti-spark switch, and finally a 10s2p battery in my circuit. ![]() Some context: this is my first board, been tinkering with it for a few months and I've become very familiar through research and trial and error. Hey guys, bout to write an essay apologies in advance:īeen having a recurring issue for a couple weeks with the motor detection with the VESC tool in the last step of my new build.
